comparison essay on the outsiders

Hi! I’m going to be telling some comparisons and differences about the book the Outsiders by S.E Hinton and “praying” my comparative claim is they have both been lurking on things that have happened in the past and the both dwell on their future with the past they both are not wanting to be alone they rely on people for their family and sometimes their love. They both have many similarities and differences about the book and the song while I’m assuming kesha is praying for this person to get better and pony  boy is living day by day as he faces the everyday consequences of life and being in a gang.

Some of their similarities one of them would have to be  they’re both getting over a heart break of the past and the reason why I say this is because pony boy lost his parents and kesha lost someone that was a companion they both have been hurt mentally and physically the problems they face are both different in most ways but some aren’t the same people they’ve both fought for themselves in some sort of way and have some almost of the same things because like most people they can’t let the past go and loosing people is not a person’s strong suit so I can understand why they wouldn’t let things like this go

Some differences that they showed were that pony boy didn’t want to be alone because he could easily get jumped and also he needed his friends because they were like brothers or family almost and kesha, well as she states in the song she doesn’t need the companion because she only wants him to be okay and not in bad condition also another difference they have is that pony boy gets in gang fights with the socs because they don’t like each other and kesha must get in fights with the guy that used to be her companion they don’t get in fights over the same things like pony boy has gang fights and kesha gets in relationship fights  and one more difference that they show is that kesha wishes the best for her ex and pony boy wants the socs dead.

In conclusion I believe that they both have differences and similarities but just in different ways I’m not a huge fan of the song praying but every song has a theme to it and I think that the outsiders book is a very good book and I would highly recommend it but I believe that almost everything has a comparison and everything has a meaning and before I wrote this essay I never knew that these to things have stuff in common

Hi!, my name is Nathan and I’m going to be writing an essay about the outsiders book and its basically about gang violence I would highly recommend reading this book because it is very great I love this book because it talks about the old days and being in a gang and with pony boy not having parents another reason why I like this book  is because it has a rising action a couple of times.one lesson that the novel teaches if gang violence is the main theme because it talks about retaliation and how they both talk about each other.

From the beginning of the story the socs tried to jump pony boy,” they walked around slowly, silently, smiling need a haircut greaser? The medium-sized blond pulled out a knife from his back pocket and flipped the blade open I was backing up from the blade of course I backed Into one of them they punched me a couple of times so he layed still staring at them and cursing between gaps and there I find the blade across my throat” and this right here is when pony boy was getting jumped by the socs and if it wouldn’t have been for Darry he probably would’ve gotten killed. Pony boy knew exactly, well bot exactly but he knew the reason why the socs and greasers didn’t get along and using my inference I can tell that the two gangs dress differently and they have different things. At the very beginning of the story pony boy tells us that his parents died a long time ago in a car crash, so  therefore he lives with his two brothers and try to stay out of as much trouble as they possibly can and one hyperbole that S.E Hinton used in the story was “Darry would kill me if I got into trouble with the police” so basically they really try to stay out of trouble.

First of all the main theme of this story is  violence is going to affect you  because of what is stated in my second paragraph also I believe that theme has to be violence because Johnny ended up killing someone with the socs. Basically what happens in the middle of the story is Johnny and pony boy meet cherry and her friend and a bunch of drunk socs try to drown pony boy. one simile that used in the story was “like a trapped animal” they were using this simile to explain how Johnny is because he is very quiet and doesn’t really talk that much at all. The reason why he’s so silent is because he gets beaten by his parents the greasers know that he does and pony boy says “it makes him madder than heck” the major part in the middle of the story is Johnny killed one of the Socs named bob, and it’s because they were trying to drown pony boy because they were drunk.

The way the author develops the theme throughout the end of the book is by the way the sequence of events go, for example because of Johnny killing bob they cut off ALL of their hair and pony boy bleached his! They jumped through so many loops and went through so many obstacles to avoid the “fuzz”. After they cut off all their hair they moved to a town called windrixvill they were staying in an old church for a while and one time they left to get something and they came back and the church was on fire and there were three little kids inside of the church so pony boy and Johnny go in to save the three little kids and while they were in there a board fell on Johnny’s back and broke his spine lucky them they made it out with the kids and the kids were safe but pony boy and Johnny were in the hospital at critical condition later on pony boy was released from the hospital but Johnny was still in there while  he was in there a gang war called a rumble happened and after the rumble Johnny died.

they could have avoided gang wars and could have avoided losing their friend, Johnny and they didn’t have to do the things they did if they would have avoided the socs. SCHOOL LUNCH? FINAL DRAFT

This just in… at Black-hawk middle school students are complaining about the nacho chips and how they taste like plastic, let’s hear from a student and what they have to say about school lunches; ” we have the worst lunch ever….. but, I’m starving so I’m still going to eat it, sometimes the lunch is good but other times it’s not at all”.

and there you have it people aren’t very fond of the school lunches because it may or may not be real food. let’s get a report from the lunch lady; ” we have healthy lunch food and we must’ve gotten a bad batch of chips, I’m sure it won’t happen again”. It seems a whole lot like the nachos that were served were unintentionally fake and it won’t happen again states the lunch lady. Let’s get another report from a student “I think that the school lunch is awesome , or at least better than it used to be in elementary it is not so fake anymore and if want what is on the menu then we can either get a salad or and peanut butter and jelly sandwich”. Let’s look around the school and see what the principal and teachers have to say……

The school lunch has gotten good and bad reports….  Let’s hear a report from the principal Kara Froning ; “honestly, most administrators do not eat the lunch that the school provides unless there is extra  food and even then we have to pay for it us and as I am speaking for the whole office and teachers prefer going home to eat or going out to eat sometimes we bring in our own lunch, and that’s just the way everyone does everything”. And there you have it folks, the administrators don’t normally eat the lunch given.

The breakfast is nutritious says the lunch lady” the best part about the day is breakfast. We give the kids something good but also healthy everyone enjoys the food and they are very happy most of the day and we are very happy to serve food to the kids”. And there you have it  the food at Blackhawk middle school  seems to be okay everyone enjoys it and Blackhawk is very healthy.

So the research has been done and it states that teens should only have 4 teaspoons of sugar a day! And the research states on the lunch menu that just one item is already over the amount of sugar you should have a day plus  all of the other items that you can choose to eat just in lunch. The average calories a male should consume is 1,500 calories a day, and the things that are on the menu are way more calories than normal, so you eat at school and if you abide by the maximum amount of calories you wouldn’t be able to eat dinner so therefore the school lunch may be healthy but is most definitely not beneficial. Study’s also show that most childhood obesity comes the food that is given at school

the newscast about uniforms prank

This just in; news from Blackhawk Middle school, there are reports that the school is going to be wearing uniforms on Tuesday after labor day here there’s a student let’s hear what he has to say about this crisis “honestly I think this whole idea about uniforms is stupid we barely even get to wear the clothes we want in the first place because we get dress coded” and there you have it folks, let’s hear from another student and see what she has to say; “I think that uniforms would be an advantage to people who get made fun of because too many people are judged by how they look, also I think that it would help people focus so they don’t have to worry about what they wear” the  students and teachers are shocked they never would’ve thought that this tragedy would of occurred.

 

Now were  hearing that it was just a prank! Wow nobody expected that but the teachers were faking it and acting like they didn’t know what was going on. Let’s hear from a student and let’s see what they have to say now; ” wow I didn’t expect that big of a turnaround like that that makes me definitely makes me reflect on things” and now the students are expect to write about how they felt about this tragedy the students are all definitely relieved that they don’t have to wear uniforms and they are  sure that they didn’t want  to buy more school clothes when the students’ parents already bought a lot of money worth of clothes.

the book that i read over the summer was diary of a wimpy kid the long haul, i liked what greg had to say and the series of events that happened in the book. i chose middle school is the worst from the library because i like the book and i can relate to what the author wrote the book  for i think the book is going to be another one of rafe’s problems.
